WHAT WE BELIEVE

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

Core Values

Nettleton Baptist Church affirms and supports the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 in accordance with the Southern Baptist Convention. Additionally, the following are the Core Values of Nettleton Baptist Church based on the foundational truths taught in the Bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these Biblical principals.

God’s purpose is above our preferences.

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were
created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or
authorities—all things were created through him and for him.
Colossians 1:15-16

We are a place for imperfect people.

But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’
Luke 18:13

God’s generosity enables us to give him our time, talent, and treasure.

Which of these three, do you think, proved to be a neighbor to the man who fell among the robbers? He said, “The one who showed him mercy.” And Jesus said to him, “You go, and do
likewise.”

Luke 10:36-37

We unapologetically hold to God’s timeless word.

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good
work.

2 Timothy 3:16-17

We take the good news of Jesus across the streets, across the states, and across the seas.

For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never
heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?Romans 10:13-14

We empower homes to engage God in the rhythm of life.

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.
Deuteronomy 6:4-7

We desire to serve people in all stages of life.

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love
for one another.
John 13:34-35
